How to permanently turn off do not check spelling or grammar in ms word

1.     Highlight the whole document.
2.     Change the font to Times New Roman. (note: it may or may not "stick" to the whole document -- not a problem)
3.     Highlight the whole document again and then go to Tools --> Language --> Set Language

1.     Select another version of English from the one you are currently using. For example, if the document you are working on is set in English (U.S.), change the document into English (U.K.). Then click OK.

4.     Make sure the whole document is still highlighted. Go back into the Tools --> Language --> Set Language option. Un-check the "Do not check spelling or grammar" box (which is either checked or has a square in it) so that it is empty. Then find your original English setting in the list of languages (i.e., "English (U.S.)"). And highlight it. Now, click "Default..." in the lower left of the dialog. Click 'Yes' to the dialog that pops up. Then click "OK".

5.     Wait a moment while the whole document is re-formatted to enable spell-check.
